How To Prepare For a Real Estate Photography Appointment

Real Estate· Real Estate FAQ's

Hey There!  So one of the questions I get asked a lot by my clients, is "What happens during that real estate photography appointment?" You can watch the video above where I walk you through the details and read on for more information!

Photography Appointment

So before your home goes on the market, you will have a professional photography appointments scheduled at your home.

My professional Stager will have already met with you prior to the photography appointment to guide you on how to set the home up, so you'll want to make sure everything is ready for the photographer when they arrive.

Some clients ask if the photographer will arrange things or change where the furniture is located for the photoshoot.  They are going to shoot your home the way it is when they meet you except for turning on lights or opening up blinds, so they are not going to be arranging pillows or moving dog bowls or trash cans or that kind of thing.

Timeline

Usually we don't do photography till about the week before going on the market because most sellers want all the time they can get to get everything in the home ready.

Holidays

Around the holidays, if we do have a home that's going to go on the market in January,  I will recommend getting photos scheduled before my clients start decorating for the holidays, or taking down decorations right after the holiday and then scheduling the photography appointment after decorations are down.

Quality

Even though the cameras on our phones have come a long way, I still have all of my homes professionally photographed.  They have HDR technology that allows them to shoot the home at 6 different light levels and then merge the images together to get a crisp gorgeous image like something out of a magazine.  They can also do color correction and other edits as needed.
