Hey there!! I recently set up a new office and I wanted to share with you some tips on how to glam up your work space! Whether it's at your home or outside your home I have always made it a point that wherever I do my work I glam up my work space a LOT! The reality is that if I'm going to spend hours on end in this environment I want to want to be there and surround myself with things that make me feel good. Every office I've ever had even if it's just a desk area like in this setup or a full on office with walls and a door, I take some time to fill it with items that I love and reflect who I am. Especially in the business world sometimes we feel that that we have to suppress our personality to ensure we come across "professional" to our clients and colleagues. While that is true to some degree, as long as you display items that are tasteful and not offensive, I find that it's not only a great way to express yourself and be in an environment you love, it also allows those around you to get to know you and build relationships faster.
As a professional, some days I get stuck glued to my computer screen or on the phone all day....I don't have time to tell everyone about my husband, dogs, love of travel, how I'm a coffee addict, etc..BUT....all they have to do is swing by my work space and in about 5 seconds they know all of that and it's a fun way to get to know people.
I just moved into a new office space this year because one thing I've noticed over the past 3 and half years of mainly working from home if I'm not meeting with clients, is that I needed a alternative place to go besides Starbucks to focus, so one of my resolutions for 2018 was to get a secondary work space. Once I secured it and moved in, I've had so many people tell me how much they admire what I've done and they wish they could do the same thing...YOU CAN and YOU SHOULD! 🙂 In this post I linked some of the items I bought for my personal work space.
I mean really....who wants to sit at the desk on the right for any length of time??
Environment is so much more important then most people realize.

I love having this setup so much and I'm spending less at Starbucks now! ?
So the moral to this story is invest in yourself! Set a budget and figure out what will energize you and do it! You will be surprised how much more you enjoy going to work when you glam up your work space! PS: This applies to guys too! Decorate in a golf or football theme...it all works as long as it's a reflection of you!
