3 Tips To Transition A Spring Dress To Fall

Casual Looks· Fall Fashion· Fashion· Holiday Looks· Latest Posts· The Glam Girl Boss· This Seasons Fashion Looks· Winter Fashion· Work Looks

Ooh Happy Fall Y'all!!! I am sooooo happy that it is FINALLY cooling down here in Dallas! Oh my goodness it was legit like still in the 90's all the way through like October 15th this year!!  I finally was able to switch out my closet and put up all my spring and summer wardrobe and feel confident that if I wore some fall threads I wouldn't break out in a sweat! LOL!  Today I want to share with you 3 tips to transition a spring dress to fall so that if you have some outfits you still want to wear this season you have an easy way to make them feel fresh for the fall months!  The key here is to add some fun layers that compliment the weather/temperature while still changing up the look of the outfit for the season.

3 TIPS TO TRANSITION A SPRING DRESS TO FALL

I thought I'd show you an actual dress that I wore this spring - I actually wore it for Easter this past year and how I change it up for fall so that you can make the best use of your wardrobe year round!  This particular dress has a great floral print which I usually shy away from to avoid looking like wallpaper - hehe but I actually really love this print and color palette.

Bomber  Jacket

So the first tip to transition a spring dress to fall is to just simply pop on a faux or real leather bomber jacket and call it a day.  I would still wear the same heels that I wore in the spring and let the jacket be more of the statement piece.  You could add on some knee high boots if the temps drop but if it's a nice fall day and you just want a different look, pop on the jacket and you're good to go!

Chunky Long Cardigan

The second tip to transition a spring dress to fall is to simply add a chunky long cardigan/sweater.  This one is just a nice neutral girlfriend cardigan that is longer which I love with the short dress because it just adds a fun layer to the look.  You could also add a scarf in a complimentary color to warm up if it's cold outside or if you just love the look!  (I LIVE in scarfs during this season!!)

Booties/Knee High/Over The Knee Boots

Booties are the perfect transition piece into fall and these really change up the look, so the third tip to transition a spring dress to fall is to switch out your strappy heels or sandals for a pair of suede booties and then as the season progresses you could swap those out for some knee high or over the knee boots or even just add a pair of opaque tights!  If you want more details on how to rock over the knee boots for the season, you can catch my post on How To Wear Over The Knee Boots

It's such an easy outfit to throw on opaque tights, a short dress, chunky cardigan, fun infinity scarf, a long necklace, and then if you have long hair a messy bun or in my case with short hair some small blingy earrings and you're done!

I hope these 3 tips to transition a spring dress to fall helps you reuse some of your wardrobe and inspires you to mix and match some items in your closet for this season!!
